Swedish team Rögle Ängelholm defeated series winners Frölunda Gothenburg in the first semifinal and successfully advanced to the final for the European ice hockey crown.
In the second semifinal, Finland's Tappara Tampere defeated Germany's Red Bull Munich 3-0 in their home arena and secured a spot in the all-important final. Due to various Corona-related quarantines, this semifinal was played with only one game.
Both teams will now meet in the home of Rögle Ängelholm, the "Catena Arena", in a decisive match on March 01. The choice of the stadium for the final is made by the CHL board after considering several factors. The overall record of the final participants from the group stage and playoffs is a factor, but also the capacity of the venue, the expected number of spectators, the technical equipment of the arena and the Corona-related restrictions in the host country.
LGT will also be on the ice. As a partner of the CHL, the bank from Liechtenstein not only benefits from various advertising spaces at the games, but also plays an important role in the "first line" of European ice hockey as an exclusive partner in the awards for the top scorer and the most valuable player.
