The digital transformation offers intermediaries the opportunity to make their processes significantly more efficient. With the right partner, they can save not only money, but also time – time they can dedicate to their clients.

Increasing quality and efficiency

Taking the right path early on

The Liechtenstein bank owned by the Princely Family embarked on this transformative path early on. LGT placed particular importance on electronic data interfaces. Intermediaries use their own software solutions and consolidate all the data of their custody banks in one system. In this system, LGT provides all transaction and position data digitally. In addition, LGT offers an order interface by means of which intermediaries can place securities and FX transactions as single or bulk orders. The interface is based on the widely used FIX format. LGT is also one of the first banks to support an order function for money market investments, exchange traded derivatives and NDFs.

More time for clients

“With our LGT SmartBanking Pro online platform, we have completely revised the digital offering for our intermediaries and aligned it with the specific needs of our partners,” explains Büchel. The platform can be used from anywhere, and, for example, offers a secure communication channel, comprehensive document management and a trading function with rebalancing and block order options.

LGT offers its intermediaries comprehensive support in their day-to-day business and works continuously to develop new solutions. This includes an electronic archive: the structured provision of PDF files with enhanced metadata makes saving documents straightforward and efficient. Automated calculation and booking of the intermediary management fee helps to save time.

Rainer Büchel is convinced that such solutions make many things easier for intermediaries. “As a result, they ultimately have more time for what’s truly important, namely supporting their clients.”
